Nosso Conto is more than just a bakery: it’s a piece of Brazil in the heart of Ireland. Born from the nostalgia of a mother-to-be craving the taste of home, our journey began with simple homemade treats and a deep love for traditional flavours.
Everything is crafted by hand using recipes that echo the warmth of Brazilian kitchens, the kind that bring back memories of childhood, family, and Sunday mornings.
What sets us apart? We don’t just bake, we tell stories. Through the unmistakable taste of our Minas-inspired goods and our dedication to the craft, we connect people, whether they’re longing for Brazil or discovering its flavours for the first time.
The story behind the name
Our story began back in 2010, when a Brazilian couple met and fell in love. Over the years, they built a life together, navigating different paths and dreams, but always side by side. In 2023, they moved to Ireland in search of new opportunities and a fresh start.
As they settled into this new chapter, the nostalgia for home grew stronger, especially the longing for the comforting flavours of Brazil. What started as a personal craving for familiar food turned into a shared project: to bring those authentic tastes to their new community. They began producing traditional Brazilian baked goods from their kitchen, balancing artisanal quality with the practicality of their home setup.
With limited space and resources, they invested gradually—purchasing machines, perfecting recipes, and expanding their product range with purpose and care. Driven by the desire to honour their roots and share the flavours they missed so dearly, they founded Nosso Conto Ltd.: a bakery built on love, tradition, and the belief that good food tells stories.
The name “Nosso Conto” means “Our Story” in Portuguese. It’s not just a reference to the journey of building a life together—it’s also the name of a song written by one of the founders as a gift to the other, many years before the bakery existed. Like the business, that song was a celebration of their love, their culture, and the story they were writing together. Today, every pão de queijo, every cake, every biscuit is a continuation of that story, inviting others to be part of it through flavour, warmth, and tradition.
